SOLAR INSTALL UPDATE FOR PIGNON WATER SYSTEM

Good news for Pignon and Haiti Outreach! As of March 5th, the Pignon water system is now fully solarized! As we prepared for the solar installation, the water system was run on a diesel generator, which was less than ideal. Having a fully sustainable system increases its reliability, preventing major generation issues in the future.

A team from Technomoteur, an engineering firm in Port-au-Prince began the two-week installation on February 18th. The parts needed for the install were paid for by USAID, the Pignon Rotary helped with the shipping costs, and our wonderful partners at HANWASH paid for the installation. Other project partners include Water Mission and Rotary district 6940. Thank you to everyone who made this possible! Haiti Outreach is committed to practicing sustainability in the work we do. Having a sustainable water system makes our work possible.

Thank you to our project foreman Gulderne Dessalines for these photos!
